Support
Get in touch — email support@cutlineapp.co. Every message is read and answered personally. If it's a bug, include your macOS version and what you were doing when it happened.
How much does Cutline cost?
A one-time $39.99 purchase through the Mac App Store. You own it — no subscription, no monthly fee. Every video you caption is included.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days, no credit card. When it ends, a one-time unlock keeps everything working. Nothing auto-charges.
Do my videos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Cutline runs entirely on your Mac — transcribed and rendered locally on Apple's Neural Engine. Nothing is uploaded. See the Privacy Policy.
What video formats can I import?
MP4, MOV, M4V, HEVC, and ProRes.
Can I translate captions?
Yes. Add a translated subtitle track that mirrors your captions, generated on-device in the languages your Mac supports (macOS 15+). Right-to-left scripts like Arabic render correctly.
Can I export an SRT or subtitle file?
In version 1, Cutline renders captions burned into the video (up to 4K). A separate subtitle-file export isn't in v1 — email me if it matters for your workflow.
What languages can it transcribe?
English works out of the box. Install the optional multilingual language pack (Settings → Languages) to add ~99 languages plus automatic detection, including right-to-left scripts.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes — upload any TrueType (.ttf) or OpenType (.otf) font and Cutline registers it properly.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 14 or later. Runs on Apple Silicon and Intel; Apple Silicon recommended for fastest transcription. Translation requires macOS 15+.
How do I use it on another Mac?
Sign in with the same Apple ID and open Settings → License → Restore Purchase. Family Sharing is enabled for up to six family members.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something isn't working, email me first — I'd rather fix it.
